Everything you need to know before your first escape room adventure

Clothes to wear in an escape room

Dressing Appropriately for the Escape Room – What is the best outfit for an escape room?

Unlock the secrets of the escape room with confidence and comfort. Dress appropriately to maneuver through mind-bending puzzles with ease. Embrace practicality and style for an unforgettable adventure.

  1. Comfortable Clothing

Comfort is key when tackling an escape room. Opt for clothes that won’t restrict your movement, like loose t-shirts, jeans, or leggings. Remember, you’ll be bending, reaching, and possibly crawling, so dress accordingly!

  1. Lightweight Clothing That Allows for Easy Movement

Avoid bulky clothing that could slow you down. Instead, choose lightweight garments that give you the flexibility to move freely and stay cool under pressure.

  1. Closed-Toe Shoes or Sneakers

Ditch the flip-flops and high heels, folks! Sturdy closed-toe shoes or sneakers are a must for navigating the twists and turns of an escape room. Trust me, your feet will thank you.

  1. Layering

Temperature control can be unpredictable in escape rooms. Prepare for chilly or stuffy conditions by layering your clothing. A light jacket or cardigan can be easily removed if you get too warm.

  1. Consider the Theme and Venue

Some escape rooms have specific themes or costumes that add to the experience. Do a little research before your visit to see if there are any dress code recommendations or restrictions.

  1. Avoiding Accessories

Leave the bling at home! Bulky jewelry, scarves, and hats can get in the way and slow you down. Plus, you don’t want to risk losing or damaging your favorite accessories during the game.

Items to Bring to an Escape Room – What should I bring to an escape room?

Equip yourself with a sharp mind, keen observation skills, and a collaborative spirit. The most important thing to bring to an escape room is an open mind and a desire to have fun.

Having an open mind will help you find clues and think of solutions faster, but nothing is more important than experience. Escape Rooms are about experiencing a story.

  1. Identification

You never know when you might need it, so be sure to have a valid ID with you.

  1. Pen and Paper for Taking Notes/Hints

Jot down clues and ideas as you go along. Trust me, your memory might not be as sharp as you think when the adrenaline is pumping.

  1. Cell Phone

Although you won’t be using it during the game, it’s always a good idea to have your phone on hand for emergencies or post-game selfies.

  1. Water Bottle

Hydration is important, even during a high-stakes escape room adventure. Bring a water bottle to stay refreshed throughout the game.

  1. Snacks

Keep your energy levels up with some light, non-messy snacks like granola bars or fruit.

Bring any necessary prescription medication, just in case you need it during your visit.

Safety Precautions When Going to an Escape Room

Safety should always be a top priority when participating in an escape room. Here are a few precautions to keep in mind:

  1. Listen carefully to the staff’s instructions and safety guidelines before entering the room.
  2. Never force open a locked door or container – if it doesn’t open easily, it’s probably not meant to be opened yet.
  3. Be gentle with props and equipment. They’re part of the experience, but they’re not indestructible.
  4. If you feel uncomfortable or need assistance, don’t hesitate to ask for help or use the provided emergency exit.
  5. Be aware of your surroundings. Do not trip and fall.

Remember, escape rooms are designed to be challenging and fun but never dangerous. Stay safe and enjoy the adventure!
